A network of private walking trails
for the community of Timber Cove, California

Timber Cove Pedestrian Easements originated in the Timber Cove Unit 2 Subdivision Maps, recorded on March 5, 1965. Each is also a designated equestrian and public utility easement. Parts of these walking trails have  been developed and redeveloped over the last half century, but maintenance has been sporadic.

Timber Cove Trail Supporters, an informal group of Timber Cove property owners, has now undertaken a restoration of the entire  pedestrian easement network.  When the restoration is complete, we will have approximately six miles of high-quality, private walking trails for Timber Cove  property owners and their guests to enjoy.

On May 3 and 4, 2025, volunteers and paid workers opened the majority of the newly restored Cemetery Creek Trail that links Umland Circle to two outlets on Ruoff Road (see TCHA annotated 2008 trail map below). Each trail in our community has its own character and beauty, some with challenging terrain, others with breathtaking views. Cemetery Creek Trail, central in our subdivision, is easy, quiet, contemplative--just perfect for quick forest bathing in the middle of a busy day.

Our sincere thanks to the donors, workers, and volunteers who made this restoration possible including Gabriella and Yarrow Drake,  Caitlin Gerdts and Joshua Gruber, John, Cleone, and Cyrene Howland, George and Lisa Melo, Susan and John Williamsen, Ruth Marshall, Roger Simpson, Wes Edell, and for a second tour of duty, Carlos and his Crew!

The restored Umland Circle-Smith Court Trail was reopened on April 16, 2023. Approximately two gorgeous miles of pedestrian walkway are now clear for Timber Cove property owners to enjoy. On April 20 & 21, 2024, volunteers and paid worker restored the lovely Rust Creek Trail.

Trail Work Days & Events

Trail Work Days April 18 & 19!
     
​Our 2026 Trail Work Days have been set for April 18 and 19, with a rain fall back for April 25 and 26. Volunteers and paid help will be restoring two sections: one connecting Timber Cove Road to Gordon Court, and from Gordon to Koftinow. This is one of the trails that will also provide an emergency pedestrian escape route to residents of those two cul de sacs. See our  "Project Progress" page for photos of other trail work.
